maybe i'm reading to much into this one

Remember a while back, like yesterday, when I pointed out that the Arizona Republic was absent in really taking up the story about the Arizona 9/11 memorial?  Well, I think they did another disservice to the public.  But maybe I'm wrong, read what I have to say and determine for yourself.  This concerns two stories that may be significant to people looking into the elections.  To see where things stand and the character of the people involved.  In an e-mail I sent out yesterday, I linked to an Arizona Republic story I had read:  http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/local/articles/0927elex-poll0927.html.  This story noted a poll that has Napolitano leading Len Munsil.  Napolitano 64%  ~  Len Munsil 28%.  A very interesting article that compelled me to send a letter of my endorsement of Len Munsil and for you to look at the issues personally to make your own educated decision.  This also highlighted that even if it wasn't true, that there is still work to get done before the general election.   (But Len Munsil has a little to say about this poll:  http://www.lenmunsil.com/2006/09/early_polls.php.  I like how he points out other polls have him running closer but this poll is the one getting the press.  Maybe that is another thing that would bother me about the Arizona Republic, but back to the story at hand.)  After I finished those letters and sent them off, I continued reading articles available on the internet.  I came across one that was titled "Dems paid group behind web site attacking Munsil".  In the article it says that originally on September 18th it was denied that the Democratic Party gave $100,000 to the Arizona Values Coalition.  But it is now being retracted and acknowledged that that this amount was given.  Arizona Values Coalition is noted as funding the Arizona Conservative Trust sponsoring a anti-Munsil website.  The article also points out "...the Arizona Conservative Trust reported paying for anti-Munsil automated phone calls shortly before the September 12th primary election."  The article doesn't make it known but I can only assume the calls it is talking about are the calls that passed on a personal Munsil family story.  The story that his eldest child was conceived a month before he and his wife wed.  You can see the full story about the Democratic parties donation here:  http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0927munsil-democrats0927.html.  Elements of that story just displays the deplorable actions taken by those involved.  But this isn't the problem I have in regards to the Arizona republic, these are actually "decent" articles to provide information to the voters.  I read these articles in the newspaper this morning and here is the problem, the questionable (according to Munsil) poll story is on the front page, the funding story is on page B6 towards the crease of the paper.  I think a story like this should be on the front of the Valley and State section, not six pages in.  I think it is a disservice to the public.  I hope it isn't an 'apparent attempt to not make the story publicly known'.  I am not trying to say that the funding story should have gotten the front page and the polling story get the back page treatment.  They both deserve front page treatment.  Why do I think it is a big deal?  Well beside what I said before about stories being significant to the voters, the funding story states, "...Munsil's campaign has filed complaints asking the Secretary of State's Office and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office to investigate whether campaign finance laws were violated."  If it is deemed campaign finance laws were violated this means legal consequences are in order.  This is where people get in trouble for wrong doing.  Job lose, jail time, that kind of stuff.  That's huge!!!  Granted it was a donation to the group and the Democratic party can't "...coordinate their activities..." but they gave it to the group "...in hopes that the group's activities would help Democratic candidates get elected."  But these are the organizations they feel comfortable enough to not only give money to but to also associate with.  Their actions aren't showing the most compelling, moral light and they can get in trouble for those actions.  So in summary, my problem with the Arizona Republic is their placement of stories of significance.  But maybe I'm wrong and it's ok, I mean, I've never worked for a paper before.

Update:
forgot to mention
In my last e-mail I quoted the Arizona Republic in saying "...the Arizona Conservative Trust reported paying for anti-Munsil automated phone calls shortly before the September 12th primary election."  I told you which phone calls I assumed they could have been.  I would like you to note that if my assumtion is correct about which phone calls they were, that would mean that those calls were illegal.  That's right, illegal.  How?  Well, the calls went out to people asking their opinion but it was not expressed who was paying for the call.  During election time, a political call can not be made without naming who the phone call is being paid by.  It's illegal.

Update:
maybe I'm *NOT* reading to much into this one
Gleefully I picked up one of several Valley & State sections laying around at work.  Why gleefully?  Because I wanted to see if the Arizona Republic would pick up the
poll story (click gubernatorial) that Len Munsil talked about Wednesday.  Also because like I mentioned yesterday, the Wednesday morning paper had the story about how Len was way behind on the front page but the story about shaky money schemes in the back, and I wanted to see how they were going to handle this kind of story.  Just like Len Munsil was wondering and hoping to "...see if they place this new poll information with huge numbers and graphics and a big story at the top of the front page of the 'Valley & State' section, like they did with today's poll that had results much more favorable to Janet."  I too was looking for Len's suggested headline "...MUNSIL CLOSES HUGE GAP IN ONE DAY, SURGES 27 POINTS!"  The glee turned to wonderment.  It wasn't on the front page in huge letters and nice graphics.  I did a quick once through and didn't see any headline suggesting the story.  But later I was going through and was reading a story, right above the continued obituaries, on B9 about the memorial and how the lawmakers were looking in the possibility of calling a special session to handle the concerns that have been raised.  I get towards the end and it has a sub headline of "Dueling polls".  It's in bold but it is in fairly small print.  It must be still about the memorial.  Nope, it's the story about the new poll Len pointed out Wednesday.  This memorial/poll story is on the second to last page, B9.  So a local poll showing Munsil way behind is good and worthy for front page press, but a national poll showing Munsil close behind is only suited for a back page halfway mention?  And the stark contrast of the numbers.  Wouldn't that alone deem it worthy of front page status?  Why wouldn't both be shown side by side to show the difference and extremes just days apart?  Or does this show possible subjectivity?  I can't believe it.  This makes me think that I might have been right yesterday when I was thinking that this might be an 'apparent attempt to not make the story publicly known'.  Before I started typing this I noticed that Len Munsil picked up on the story as well.
If you've read my e-mail about Prop 107, and read specifically the Republic story linked in it, you might understand why the Republic might not want the people of Arizona to know about Len Munsil and his position in the polls.  Maybe a little liberal bias slant?  I don't know.  Just a guess and observation.  Like I said yesterday, "...I've never worked for a paper before."  Maybe it's all good but I am starting to think that I'm not reading to much into this.

Update:
investigation update
I mentioned to you last week about the Demecratic party admitting they gave $100,000 to the Arizona Values Coalition who funds the Arizona Conservative Trust.  The Arizona Conservative Trust is the group that sponsors an anti-Len Munsil website.  They also are "...reported paying for anti-Munsil automated phone calls shortly before the September 12th primary election."  Well I wanted to update you as to what is happening with this story.  The Clean Elections Commission has "...dismissed allegations brought against her (Governor Janet Napolitano) campaign by representatives of GOP gubernatorial candidate Len Munsil."  (2)

Pass this on for people to know the other stories out there.

where's Arizona in all this?

To whom it may concern,
Ok, I sort of said that I was going to let this one die, but I have been left with no choice but to resurrect it a little bit.  So most of you know that I e-mailed you frequently concerning the desecration of the Arizona 9/11 memorial that was reported on espressopundit.com.  This was started with an article last week.  By this last weekend it was exploding in a big way.  I had heard a quick mention of it on local radio broadcast, bloggers where fanning the flames, the report was televised on Fox News, and Len Munsil (www.lenmunsil.com) was getting into the thick of it.  As of Tuesday morning, the blogger for espressopundit.com was on Fox News on "Fox and Friends".  He has also stated more than a hundred newspapers have carried the story.  But not so much the Arizona Republic.  The state paper hasn't given much focus to this at all.  The paper for the state that houses the memorial in question that is apparently getting national press hasn't been reporting on it in depth.  What?  Why are reporters neglecting a job that screams of having the very things needed for a great report?  This is prime for a reporter.  espressopundit.com says it this way:  "The Sound of Silence ~ Funny, the Arizona Republic hasn't said much about the memorial.  I wonder why that is?  After all, the Republic is a major contributor to the memorial...oh, I guess I just answered my own question."  So I decided to get in the game hopefully for one last play on my part (as far as e-mail updates go).  I encourage you to send people you know in the state of Arizona to this story.  They have a right to know what is happening in their own state and what is on the Arizona 9/11 memorial.  They should be able to determine if this is right or wrong for themselves; and also, they should at least be privy to the information available.  So I am going to use the "E" word again (like I haven't used it enough the last couple of e-mails; I'll open a thesaurus soon I swear), I encourage you to send people to the following link:  http://members.cox.net/espressopundit/index.htm#Shock%20and%20Awe and tell them to read it, then scroll their way up to the top to read the story chronologically.  And maybe encourage them to go to the memorial themselves, to see it in person, to make that kind of determination by looking at the physical memorial.

let a resounding rumble of support come from the grassroots

To everyone,
If you have not been able to put together with resent e-mails I have been sending, I am personally putting my support behind Len Munsil for Governor of this great state (but hot; real hot; too hot) Arizona.  And if there is any shred of truth to this article http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/local/articles/0927elex-poll0927.html there is more work to be done to get the vote behind Len Munsil.  I support Len Munsil for a number of reasons.  His strength of character.  His experience in leadership that has been shown through his founding and running of the Center for Arizona Policy.  Also through his work with the Center for Arizona Policy that helped pass laws and legislation that protected/protects families.  (The Center for Arizona Policy http://www.azpolicy.org/ continues with this mission as Len Munsil focuses his attention and abilities to running for Governor.)  He is knowledgeable and predictably consistent.  I believe in his positions on the issues (http://www.lenmunsil.com/2006/06/issues.php), it's upstanding and built on a foundation of truth that is moral and ethical.  He is God fearing.  He has the experience needed (http://www.lenmunsil.com/2006/08/about_len.php) to take control of this state and provide a legacy of integrity for generations to come.  I believe he will legislate in our best interest.  I personally believe that he is the best choice for Arizona State Governor.  And I am sending this to you to provide you with the information needed to make an educated decision this coming election (Len Munsil:  http://www.lenmunsil.com/  ~  Janet Napolitano:  http://www.janet2006.com/).  I am also writing in hopes that if you determine to find Len Munsil to be the best choice, to through your personal support behind him as well.  I have heard that Len Munsil has a grassroots campaign and I want to do my best to progress it that much further, getting his name out to as many people as possible.  If you would like to help, Len Munsil has a few suggestions that would help out that much more http://www.lenmunsil.com/get_involved.php (scroll past the information boxes to see his suggestions).  And take advantage of the daily reports and articles Len Munsil provides on the home page of his site www.lenmunsil.com.  Get informed, stay informed; get involved, stay involved.  If you do feel confident in Len Munsil representing you as the Governor of Arizona, I would encourage you, like he says, "Get 10 Votes! - Can you find 10 people to vote for Len in November?...  ...Tell 10 - If you tell 2 friends, and they tell 2 friends, and so on, and so on – before you know it, EVERYONE will know that Len Munsil is the top candidate for Governor for Arizona 2006."

If you would like to forward this e-mail as your effort to spread the word, please feel free to do so.

"...that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom..." ~Abraham Lincoln

What Len Munsil said today at the 9/11 memorial rings true, sensible, and logical, and it brought a tear or two to my eyes when I reached the last five statements/sentences.  http://www.lenmunsil.com/2006/09/memorial0925.php

i'm going to call this quits but you shouldn't

I have been e-mailing updates to the majority of you about this story of Arizona's 9/11 memorial from www.espressopundit.com  (original story:  http://members.cox.net/espressopundit/index.htm#Shock%20and%20Awe).  Everyday it has been getting bigger and bigger, being picked up by other bloggers and news providers.  Well, within the last day, it has exploded.  To see what I mean, just check out the newest posts on www.espressopundit.com.  A quick notation of recent happenings:  more pictures have been taken:  http://hotair.com/archives/2006/09/24/photo-series-the-arizona-911-memorial  it's now reported on fox news:  http://hotair.com/archives/2006/09/24/video-fox-covers-arizona-911-memorial-controversy  Len Munsil has more to say on it:  http://www.lenmunsil.com/2006/09/outrage_grows.php  Len Munsil also is planning a get together at the memorial:  http://www.lenmunsil.com/2006/09/11_am_tomorrow.php  a renowned blogger has picked up the story:  http://michellemalkin.com/archives/005979.htm  **don't forget about that curriculum:  http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2006/09/more_on_az_911_.html & http://www.townhall.com/blog/g/3204aa80-6484-4823-8e3c-536ea2eb484d
The only thing that I am not in whole hearted agreement with is some of the opinions expressed in the blogs, is the idea of the memorial being in a "crescent" shape, to imply an homage to Islam.  I can see the architectural aspect is why it is shaped like that but think that looking past it is a little far fetched.  (as noted in a blog http://hotair.com/archives/2006/09/20/arizona-911-memorial-remembers-us-airstrike-on-civilians-suggests-that-bush-knew towards the bottom.)
This is getting huge.  I just spent over an hour and a half reading everything I linked to up above and the links inside those blogs.  It is starting to get endless.  So I have been thinking that I am going to stop updating you with these e-mails on this subject.  I might throw an update or two your way if it seems like a sizeable singular piece of information.  The information is just getting so vast, that it will soon be a little hard to keep it concise in the little time I have been devoting to keeping updated with this myself.  But I would encourage you to keep www.espressopundit.com as a bookmarked page.  Check it everyday, as I have been doing, to get the latest updates on what is going on with this.  If you are interested.  That way, I won't have to try and make sense of this fantastic story that is exploding everywhere.  And I encourage you to pass this encouragement to others.

On e-mails I sometimes receive are forwarded messages from people, and a phrase I see pop up time and time again is:  "If you can read this, thank a teacher."  Recently I have noticed this phrase:  "If this is in English, thank a soldier."  I like it.  (I apologize if I took a little liberty on the quotation.)

If you can read this, thank a teacher...

So to the majority of you I mentioned the story presented by espressopundit.com about the 9/11 memorial:  http://members.cox.net/espressopundit/index.htm#Shock%20and%20Awe.  Well, it seems that this story is getting a lot of press, as expressopundit.com is now expressing with his latest blog entry titled 'a national outrage':  http://www.espressopundit.com/.  The blog author now links to a more detail story about the distasteful memorial that is quite an interesting read:  http://www.floppingaces.net/2006/09/20/the-moonbat-arizona-911-memorial/.

It's getting enough attention that it's getting a mention in Len Munsil's daily blog:  http://www.lenmunsil.com/2006/09/governors_911_memorial_curricu.php.  But I didn't want to only point out the extension of the memorial story.  What I wanted to give more focus to is what Len Munsil mentions towards the end of his blog:  "Equally offensive is the Governor’s commission report on suggested 'K-12 Educational Activities to Commemorate September 11th.'"  I had heard about this proposed (if not already in effect (I'm unaware...)) curriculum on the Liddy and Hill show (http://www.liddyandhill.com/) on the Patriot (http://www.kknt960.com/).  It's not my favorite show but they do have their moments. Anyway, I have been trying the last couple of days to find this information to pass it along to you, and in turn, hope you would spread it to the teachers you know that would find this offensive.  (I mean, this is something coming from our governor that is asking for another term.  This and other things cause serious concern to me.)  But finding the curriculum was to no avail; I didn't have much time to focus the research and I didn't have the first clue of where to look.  But, I noticed a link in the more detailed story about the memorial (what I linked above), and it sends you to the official site for the Arizona 9/11 memorial, to the page that links to the curriculum:  http://www.az911memorial.com/Educational%20Curriculum.htm.  On the page, it provides the link to the *.pdf file containing the curriculum:  http://www.ade.state.az.us/sbtl/sdi/September11activities.pdf.  This curriculum, from what I have heard, was hidden deep in the Arizona Department of Education website, but I am noticing it pretty visible on the home page now:  http://www.ade.state.az.us/.  But anyway...

Very interesting read if you ask me.  I think there may be a sufficient number of teachers that would be very interested in reading this.  I think there may be a sufficient number of regular people that would be very interested in reading this.  I encourage you, that if you want, to forward this to those you think would be interested.

I encourage you to read the full blog from Len Munsil if you haven't already, it points out what is so offensive with the curriculum:  http://www.lenmunsil.com/2006/09/governors_911_memorial_curricu.php.

Update:
It appears www.espressopundit.com missed a phrase quoted on the memorial:  “You don’t win battles of terrorism with more battles.”  Espressopundit.com points this out after reading an article in the East Valley Tribune (http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/index.php?sty=74855) where they added this quote among the other things espressopundit.com had previously noted.
Just thought this additional quote was interesting.  I would love to try and get to this memorial myself to see if there is anything else that might have been accidently overlooked.  Just interesting, very interesting.

things that make you go what?

Honestly I had not known that there was in the works, the building of a monument to 9/11 in Arizona.  But apparently there was, and it was recently completed and unveiled at Wesley Bolin Plaza.  When I heard of the news on the television, I became impressed and proud that Arizona took the time to pay respect with a monument of memorial.  It is a circular strip of metal that floats up from the ground on an angle.  At the different times of the day, words are illuminated from what is cut out of the metal above.  Quite impressive from what I have heard, because unfortunately I have not seen it with my own eyes.  But as I was listening to the Tom and Liddy show http://www.liddyandhill.com/ on http://www.kknt960.com/ I heard them quickly address some disgust they had with it.  I missed specifically what it was but they gave a website to look into the details.  I got home and plugged in the site.  It turns out to be a blog.  I won't go into detail of what it says but I will let you explore for yourself.  I'd rather you have the reaction I had instantaneously.  The story is right under the story for Len Munsil and his inquiry to the Clean Elections Commission into possible Janet Napolitano dirty, dirty ways.  http://www.espressopundit.com/  The article is titled 'Shock and Awe'.
Just for your information.
Pass it around to people you think would be interested in this.

just a couple of things

You were asking about 'United 93', it'll be out in September:  http://videoeta.com/movie/79172
I remember you saying that you went to Blockbuster and the kid said that they were out of it or something like that, I think he was thinking of this movie:  http://videoeta.com/movie/81145  I told you that is what i thought he might have thought.  I haven't seen it myself so I don't know if it might be any good.  Maybe someday I will check it out.

So we just saw 'World Trade Center' and I happened to come across this interesting story, check it out:  http://hughhewitt.townhall.com/g/89b18c72-56a5-4af7-b93a-a2a4322eedcb  And another:  http://hughhewitt.townhall.com/g/604a850f-f3c0-4654-9fb6-92af271a5661

Also, I mentioned how there is a project to honor the people who died on September 11, here it is:  http://hughhewitt.townhall.com/g/4194b474-d6e8-4ffb-a4f9-431721eca686
